[PLUG] xorg.conf does not listen to rgb.txt?

My growing suspicions were confirmed when I found

  "rgb.txt is deprecated, sorry.  The default upstream is to build without
  support for it.

  Your distribution may choose to do otherwise, of course, but that's not
  for X.org to enforce."

So it sounds like I'll have to rebuild my X server to have a chance of 
this working now.  Dang.
