I put the micro version of DD-WRT on some v6 and v7 versions of
Linksys WRT's and they "work", but there is nothing on them but the
web interface and very basic functionality.  There is a shell you can
connect to, but no commands of note to run.

OpenWrt basically made the decision that, yeah as a party trick you
could get a Linux kernel on the smaller 2M flash versions, but the
userspace was then so constrained that it wasn't worth the contortions
given what you ended up with.  So, officially, OpenWrt doesn't support
devices with less than 4M of flash.

My limited experience with 11n has not been favorable. a) it's a bit
of a spectrum pig in an already limited spectrum; and b) the host-mode
support is not stellar yet (afaik).  802.11g is still faster than most
people's internet connections, which is often what you are connecting
to anyway.
