Just for clarity and ease of making comparisons. That 2MB/s download speed
that you're getting, based on
on 1 Mb/s = 125,000 B/s, means the actual service you're getting from
Comcast is
16 Mb/s. I've heard they're offering 22 Mb/s and 50 Mb/s service also.

 As for DSL service, it's either going to be through  Qwest or Verizon,
depending on whether you live East or West
of the Willamette no matter which ISP you buy the service through.

According to this page,
http://www.qwest.com/residential/internet/features.html, Qwest offers speeds
up to 20 Mb/s and internet w/o phone service. Qwest also was recently bought
by
Century-Tel, so their service offerings and prices are subject to change...
