[PLUG] Accessing Wireless Router/AP

   The replacement Asus WL 520 GC arrived and I'm trying to configure it but
cannot access the admin page via firefox. It must be something I've done
incorrectly and I'm not seeing what that is.

   The Asus is connected to the Ethernet port on my portable, normally eth0
with the IP address of 192.168.55.2. As root, I ran 'ifconfig eth0:1
192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.0'. When I run 'ifconfig -a' I see that port
eth0:1 is running on the 192.168.1.0 subnet.

   In the address box of firefox I enter 'http://192.168.1.1' and see a
message that the connection cannot be established. I also cannot ping that
IP address as a user.

   Cluestick needed, please.
