   Not at all. Ask away. :-)

   It's actually a Logitech trackball. When it needs cleaning it tells me by
getting sticky. The ball pops out and I clean out the cruft from the rollers
and sensor, wipe the ball, and return it. I just gave the button edges a
good blast of compressed air.

   I've had pointy devices wear out before, but none stopped working for
pasting apparently cut strings.
