[PLUG] Why Laptop Cannot Find Wireless Networks

   This happened in the past with both Toshiba and Sony notebooks, and today
with the Dell Latitude E4510 laptop: my wireless network sniffer shows a
strong signal (3-4 of 4 lights on) yet wicd-client cannot find a wireless
network for connection. This was at Providence Med. Center in NE Portland.

   What might cause wicd to not find a network when the signal strength is
strong?

   The hospital requires a password to use their system, but they provide
that and, of course, one must have a network connection in order to use the
password for access.

   Any ideas?
