I know there's a general disdain regarding Fry's around here, but they
usually have Asus SATA burners (OEM) for ~$20-25. I've been using those in
all of my recent builds (a couple of Windows boxes, a hackintosh and two or
three Linux systems). So far I haven't seen any problems.

I learned years ago to stay far away from LiteOn. :-P
