Thanks Michael for your prompt answers.

Okay, so lets see if we are on the same page.

A typical setup for spamcannibal is to have the lowest numbered mail
exchanger locally deliver email, at least the spam account. This
negates the whole spam is not in the right place problem.

My environment is different, though I have the full spamcannibal
installation on the email gateways. Thing is, my gateways don't
locally deliver anything at all. I have a spam account on what should
be an internal mail hub, I'm not yet into masquerading at run time email
headers. How can I gain remote access to the spamcannibal database so
that I don't have to install the full package on the mail hub? If I
understand correctly, I should process the spam on the mail hub instead
of trying to redirect it to the gateways hopefully intact. What should
I uninstall on the gateway relays and how do I do that?

In short, I'm wondering where my focus should be for my particular
environment. I recommend if at all possible that someone post
installation instructions for my environment where there is no local
delivery on the Internet connected mail relays.

If I'm clear, I want the spamcannibal database on the mail hub, not the
mail relays. I want to process the spam on the mail hub. I want to
update my two DNSBLS servers, redundancy. And separate from
spamcannibal, I want to masquerade email headers so that I can email
Internet targets indirectly and take my mail hub off of the Internet.
With all this in mind, how do I uninstall the spamcannibal database
from the mail relays? Am I correct in thinking that what really matters
is keeping the blacklist DNS servers up to date?

----------- ------- -----------
| relay 1 |-----| Hub |-----| relay 2 |
----------- ------- -----------
     \ /
      | |
      \ /--------\ /
       \ ------|Internet|------/
               \--------/

The above is a diagram of what I think I'm after:
The spamcannibal database and the spam account on Hub.
The relay 1 and relay 2 servers the only ones on the Net.
A DNSBLS server on relay 1 and relay 2.
Tarpitting has to occur at relay 1 and relay 2.
Postfix is the MTA launched via MailScanner on relay 1 and relay 2.
Postfix is employed on Hub.

For a better diagram, I really have to use Dia.
