This may be the case. Finding current information is difficult. A
slackware wiki page was last updated in 2008. Seems to me that qemu and kvm
should be keeping up with current protocols, else why bother with
virtualization at all?
Perhaps the most pragmatic solution is find someone with a windoze box
who'll let me temporarily install the Garmin BaseCamp tool and the four
state maps so I can install them on the GPS receiver, then remove those
files.
