[PLUG] e-readers

The best news I know of with regards to Linux and e-readers is that Sony
uses the Android OS to power their e-reader, which in my opinion is the
best candidate for a becoming a Kindle-killer, boasting the best book
annotation and best PDF reading / annotating capabilities of any device
on the market, save for perhaps the Kindle. The software on the computer
side appears to have recently undergone a complete overhaul about two
years ago, judging from the number of rough corners still in the
software, but the software itself is usable and the device is excellent.
I don't entirely sure how you would transfer books from a GNU/Linux
based PC to the Sony e-Reader, since I use a Windows-based PC at home,
but I'm fairly certain it's as simple as mounting the device, copying
over your files and categorizing them as you see fit device-side. The
internal databases are SQL lite databases from what I can tell, so the
more adventurous types can try and modify the database directly if they
want (back up your data first, though).

There's also the Kobo, but I haven't really looked into that particular
device too much.
