Is this typical Linus or is he just spitting mad and uncontrollably flew 
off into a rare rage?
It's usually considered a major management error to chew out a 
subordinate in public.  Maybe the maintainer deserved a keel-hauling, or 
even to be relieved of his responsibilities, but a leader doesn't just 
unload like that and publicly ruin somebody's reputation.
