   I'm not a Fry's fan so I looked elsewhere. ENU does not sell portables
(parts only), techbargains has nothing interesting, but newegg does.

   Newegg is selling an HP 635 for an acceptable price.

My Google search shows that in Europe, at least, it can be purchased with
SuSE Enterprise pre-installed. Can I therefore safely assume that I can
install Xubuntu on it and have all expected functionality? I'm not familiar
with SuSE so I don't know how its support for portables might differ from
that of other distributions.

   I do know that I've successfully installed Slackware and Xubuntu on
different brands of portables and had everything work.

   Any comments on this laptop?
