I had seen both, but timing was off for them to be effective 
{N.B. I said "effective" not "useful"}.

If I had read them before first attempting to use lilo or as 
among first references after I was in trouble they would 
have been effective as well as useful.

As it was I didn't see them until after reading a lot of web 
pages and finding  a partial solution which had sent me 
following a futile rabbit trail. When I found them they were 
mis-categorized as "already have that info" ;/

As to "I imagine that is going to be a bit too much info to 
wade through", you can NEVER have too much.
