Live TV. I haven't tried recording anything yet. Today was the first 
time I had an opportunity to finish configuring MythTV to the point 
where I could watch something with it. Previously I ran HDHomeRun Config 
GUI and watched a couple of stations via VLC Media Player. Same 
choppiness there, too, and also with the demo movie clips in MythTV 
setup. The silly bird was fine, but the character trekking through snow 
in the mountains was slightly choppy. Note, that the choppiness is not 
terrible, but it is noticeable.

Next time I have some free time I'll try setting it up to record 
something and see what I get.

I'll fiddle with those, too, when time permits.

That's good to know. Like I said, I'm not sure it makes sense to spend 
too much on this particular laptop. It does, however, give me the 
opportunity to get to know MythTV from an operational perspective.
