Thanks for the prompt response. I'm not sure what you mean by "going
to". Externally, I'm on an IPV4 system, and the router does have an
IPV4 address. So, when I try
ssh <name>@ipv4-address
and when I have port forwarding set for port 22 to an 192.168
(internal IPV4 address) of the box,
I'd expect it to get to the centos box, but it doesn't.
I know what the iPV4 address is because a) it says so within the
router, and b) the Centos box occasionally sends me a message whose
IP address I can see.
I fear I may need help with the router also.
In addition, I'm remote from my friend, and ask him to do certain
things. I have access to his Windows box via Team Viewer, and thus
have access to his router.
The centos box was working just fine before his older IPV4 router
failed and Comcast replaced it.
Any guidance you can give would be appreciated.
