Ed,

   Nothing pertinent found.

I just tried printing to the color laserjet with the same results:
 	lpr: Connection refused

I'm not finding any help on the Web for this; the few potentially useful
hits are years old and most do not have solutions.

When lpr reports the connection is refused where in the path from command
to data being transferred to the printer's memory might the blockage be
located? Is there a detailed description of what happens when lpr is invoked
with a file name?

I need to get this working as I have accounts payable checks to print and
mail. And, it's distracting me from getting other things accomplished. Any
printing expert here amongst all the experienced network admins?

Rich
