Robert,

   Generated both pairs of key files on the laptop, caddis.

   Copied the is_dsa and id_dsa.pub to the server, salmo, and appended the
latter to salmo:~/.ssh/authorized_keys2. Still the same error message
trying to ssh from caddis to salmo.

   In salmo's known_hosts there are two entries for caddis, one for ssh-dss
the other for ssh-rsa.
