[PLUG] LibreOffice Base Compatibility

   For a couple of applications where other participants are stuck behind
Windows the LO Base application is more appropriate for data storage,
manipulation, and retrieval than are spreadsheets. Has anyone here
experience with sharing the Base data files with others who use M$ Office?

   A Web search finds a reference to opening old access files in LO, but not
any hints on going the other way. A page on the LO help site for exporting
and importing Base files suggests that they can be exported only to the LO
Calc spreadsheet format. Is exporting tables as .xls files the only option?
