Windows 3.1, Compaq, 1GB hard drive.   I am going to guess that this
is a 90's-era system (i.e. about 20 years old).  So, that drive
probably uses an IDE connector and the CPU is probably a 486 or
earlier Pentium.  It's a small miracle that the system is still
running.

But that's just a guess.  Can you provide us with a bit more detail
about the hardware?  For example, does it have a CD ROM drive?  What
model Compaq is it?

While you may not know what software was used to clone the drive, how
was the clone performed?  For example, did you boot from a CD or
remove the drive or something else?

My inclination would be to remove the drive, connect it to a USB/IDE
adapter, image it using dd on a linux laptop, and run the image within
VirtualBox to verify that the imaging worked[1].
