I'm a Fedora/RedHat/SUSE kind of guy.  We use systemctl to control 
services.  What ever way you control your services, please check that 
your sshd daemon is in fact running.

Also check that you do not have some firewall on your systems getting in 
your way.

Is your router filtering out or blocking your requests?

Is your router functioning as your local DNS?  Is it dealing out the 
correct addresses for your systems?

You always present such interesting problems.  I'm sure you would rather 
not, but thanks.
