Hi Ken,

   Yes, sshd is always running. It's started when the systems boot. And, I
just checked on this host; it's in the running process list. If sshd is not
running would I get a response that it's trying to copy the public key but
the connection is failing, in both directions?

   No, the firewall is outward facing only.

   Nver before have done this.

   No. That's on the desktop server.

   Yeah, I'd prefer things just worked as they're supposed to. It's no more
fun than finding your vehicle won't start when you leave for work in the
morning. Not only a PITA and a distraction but an interferrence with
business.
