[PLUG] my printer is out of ink, recommendations for a new printer?

I ended up also going with a Brother laser. I've got the HL2280DW and I've
been very pleased with it. It's easy to refill, and cheap. They don't make
you jump through too many hoops.

Then I found out that my kids really needed color printing for school. Not
very often, but enough that I should really have color. My wife was also
REALLY pushing for it, as a school teacher. I did my research and got a
Brother MFCJ470DW. I'm also very happy with it. It's an inkjet, so the
colors can bleed if they get wet, but that's not much of an issue for us.
It puts out great prints, though I've never tried for perfect photos or
anything like that, so I'm not sure how it would do. For our uses it's
perfect, and its ink is also wonderfully cheap through generics, and
there's no problems with using them, even though there is a chip on the
cartridge. It just asks if I replaced a certain color after I had the door
open and I push the button for 'yes' and it takes it and goes on with its
job.

So I've been very happy with Brother and the ease of ink/toner replacements
with generics. Both machines are all-in-ones and they both do double sided,
but with the possibility of ink bleed-through I've never attempted it with
the inkjet. I guess I should, just to see how it does.
