Yep:

mount |grep <foldername>
/dev/sr0 on /media/jjj/<foldername> type iso9660
(ro,nosuid,nodev,uid=1000,gid=1000,iocharset=utf8,mode=0400,dmode=0500,uhelper=udisks2)

But that can't be because /dev/sr0 is empty and the drawer is even
open as I type this.

Oh wait ...

umount /dev/sr0
ls -la
<no stupid folder remaining>

Problem solved. :)
