Seemingly simultaneously multiple people discovered these
vulnerabilities that exploit CPU data cache timing to cause protected
information to be leaked. I'll start with a review of modern CPU design
features like parallel execution, out of order execution, speculative
execution, branch prediction, cache access and side channels leading up
to the 3 flaws, called Meltdown and Spectre. Including a simple
understandable example of the flaws, and show an actual Proof of Concept.
