[PLUG] Xeon SBC and Linux...

Does Linux support a Prestonia 603 pin Xeon running at 2.4 Ghz with
512k L2 cache? I believe the processor
is 32 bit. The board is a discontinued Trenton XPI 6200 SBC. I will
need to use KVM to map the ISA shared
memory card to the virtual machine. The virtual machine is going to
be Windows 98SE or Windows ME. The ISA
card uses IRQ 11 and I/O base D0000 (32k).

VirtualPC 2007 worked on top of Windows XP Pro running 98se, but I
could not access the ISA
shared memory card on the backplane. XP Pro is too protective of the
hardware, Q-Soft won't work.

Can't get Windows 98SE to work on this motherboard directly,
motherboard resources conflicting with PCI bus...

So I'm wondering if there is a patch to get 98SE deconflicted and how
to install without ACPI if there isn't a patch? Do I run setup.exe /p
j or something similar from a command prompt when I'm ready to run
Windows 98 setup?

If I can run Windows 98SE or WIndows ME stably on this motherboard, I
need to know that. If I can't, but I can run Linux with KVM and
emulate the required system great, I need to know that.

Ideally with all the needed information, I'd port Q-Soft to freedos
and use FLTK for a gui or perhaps Linux and X. Unfortunately, that is
not realistic and I don't have the information I need :-(
