Which is why I asked where to direct concerns. Public complaints always get
clipped to a sound-bite. Next thing you know there's a wall of text flying
right past the intended point.

I work in tech support. I don't succeed there because I disregard the
concerns of end users. I take the time to read and understand what is being
asked and give pointed suggestions to solve problems. This is why it sucks
so much when someone walks all over my response, leads by admitting they
have no idea what they are talking about, and then proceeds to wash out any
sense of reality.

Is he doing it intentionally? No probably not. But any attempt to set out
what is or isn't real is met with the same assumption that his age makes
him right. IMNSHO that is not a polite way to engage in conversation in any
group. I do consider it abusive, and there are multiple people here who do
that consistently. I'll raise the issue privately. If the powers that be
decide that PLUG is a group of old white men bragging about the decades of
experience they have in fortran, then maybe I should move on. My protonmail
account is far more peaceful than gmail anyway, I'll just move important
contacts over there and continue with my remaining 70 years.
