Yes. It's available from the Applications > Settings menu as NVIDIA X 
Server Settings

One of the options is "Save to X configuration file" It's the approach I 
always used in Ubuntu.

Another thing. I now have a mirrored situation whereas before, the 
single desktop was spread across both monitors.
