Yes, to a large degree. And in some cases to not think at all about it.
Which isn't all on the companies who make it easy to use and obfuscate the
back end,

But also I'm complicit for not reading the ToC, not asking questions, not
discussing it with others and not supporting companies/orgs that truly care
about privacy/security.

A big realization for me is that I've benefited greatly from FOSS and I
haven't contributed very much to the effort. Especially, financially.

I've had my moments of thinking clearly & critically and changing
behaviors. I'll certainly contact you when I think I'm ready for step 2!
