[PLUG] SpamAssassin not reading messages

Early each Sunday morning a cron job runs the script:

sa-learn --spam --mbox --showdots mail/spam-uncaught
rm -f mail/spam-uncaught

This has worked flawlessly for years. Until today.

There are 13 messages in ~/mail/spam-uncaught yet the script returns:

Learned tokens from 0 message(s) (0 message(s) examined)

I would like ideas of what to check to figure out why sa-learn suddenly
failed.
