I could not find in the docs (which look just like the man page) or from a
web search how to specify my microphone for the -i input option. So I went
looking for a working solution. And found audio-recorder on SBo. It works
great. Simple set up, recognizes the AT microphone, and will record directly
to an .mp3 file.
