I don't know if this is something you would want to do, but for me playing
music on Android was so annoying, that I went a totally different
direction. I now use a Zune to play my music files on, & that has worked
out a lot better. The biggest limitations being that I have to use an
offline Windows XP laptop to move files onto the Zune. Also, it doesn't
support FLAC. However, there are some generic digital music players for
sale online that
do support FLAC, mp3, etc. & can be managed using GNU/Linux. The only
reason I'm using a Zune is because my neighbor gave it to me years ago
after Microsoft abandoned it.
