Hey guys!
Just a reminder, Geek Fair Five! is coming up soon - July 16th, to be exact,
but for those of you who haven't confirmed yet, the deadline is looming ever
closer... The last day to reserve a booth is July 1st - that's in a week!
There will be a beer garden, food from a couple collectively-run cafes in
the area, printer smashing (think Office Space), video games hosted by
Backspace Cafe, and a children's village. Our musical lineup includes The
Black Peppercorns, The Sprockettes, Beliss, Dorado, Folkrum, Trashcan Joe,
The Vulturines, Raina Rose, SweetJuice, The Bad Mintons, Vivian's Keeper,
and Like a Circus Fire. It's sure to be a fun event, and we're expecting a
big turnout this year!

Free Geek Community Technology Center focuses its efforts on reuse and
recycling of computers, which otherwise would be contributing to the
toxicity of landfills and the environment. We bring in volunteers to help
with recycling, and teach them how to build their own computers, which they
get to keep, thus providing skills and technology to all members of the
community who are interested, many of whom would be otherwise unable to
afford these things. Our yearly street fairs give us an opportunity to show
appreciation of our volunteers, as well as provide an opportunity to reach
further into the community with a tone of celebration. In years past, we've
had as many as 400 people - not robots - show up to our events.
We look forward to hearing from you!
best,
ian sergeant
