topic:    Gtk-Perl + Zim (an "un-collaborative wiki")

  * an example program in Gtk,to demonstrate the basics
  * the freedesktop mime and application bindings
    (programming for the desktop (as opposed to the web))
  * a quick Zim demo
  * advanced Gtk slides at the end if everyone behaves themselves

Followed by beer at the Lucky Lab.

(Note:  gtk is the "gimp toolkit" GUI widget set/API (e.g. gimp, gnome, 
most gui programs starting with 'g', etc.))

(Also note:  freedesktop is an open standards initiative for things 
like .desktop files, thumbnails, and various other interoperability 
bits on linux (and anywhere else they can get away with it.))
