Sr. Unix Admin-

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

You will configure, maintain and monitor production, test and development of 
UNIX-based systems and their associated peripherals. Requires a Bachelor's 
degree in Computer Science, or equivalent business experience, and a minimum 
of 5 years of open systems management including performance tuning, problem 
resolution, capacity planning, and data management.

Qualifications:

* Must have a minimum 5+ years experience performing Unix Systems 
administration, and be familiar with UNIX shell programming.
* Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Unix systems, patching, OS 
upgrades, backup and recovery, proactive maintenance and maintenance and 
enforcement of security models.
* Excellent technical problem-solving skills combined with strong customer 
service attitude.
* Provides solutions to a wide variety of difficult problems of a diverse 
scope, which may require application of evolving technology.
* Provides own goal setting and works independently with general direction.
* Meets with customer/clients and represents organization in 
cross-functional environment.
* Meets with vendors concerning new storage or computing technology.
* Proven leadership abilities.

Required:

* Solid understanding of Unix operating systems; AIX 4.3.3 or higher 
required, 5.x preferred.
* Solid performance tuning skills for AIX required.
* Experience with IBM hardware platforms for AIX required, Dynix desired. 
Specific experience on IBM Regatta class server highly desired.
* Solid understanding of network components, routing, name resolution and 
network troubleshooting required.
* Strong scripting skills in KSH required, Perl desired.
* Experience managing RAID arrays required.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Writing of documentation, 
procedures, and presentations required.

Preferred:

* Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions strongly desired 
(ie-Tivoli or Veritas).
* Dynix/PTX, Solaris and Linux desired. Ability to administer, maintain, 
troubleshoot, patch, and recover these operating systems.
* Storage Area Network experience strongly desired, especially IBM 
enterprise-class products (i.e. Shark Enterprise Storage Server).
* Experience with event management software strongly desired, especially 
Tivoli Event Management
* Experience in an Oracle database environment strongly desired.

Education / Training:
* Requires a BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
