Description:

The Technical Committee (TheTC) is seeking to hire several experienced
software designer/programmers for to implement portions of client-server
protocols, protocol analysis tools, and communications test suites using
proprietary information contained in Microsoft's reference
documentation. TheTC is responsible for assisting the United States
Department of Justice and several State governments in enforcing the
Microsoft anti-trust settlement. 

 

Specific duties:

*       Using the Microsoft communication protocol technical
documentation as a specification, design, code and build a prototype
system that runs on a non-Windows server and that interoperates with
existing features on a Windows XP client. For the most part, the
prototype system will receive Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs) from the XP
client and return results to it such that the XP client behaves as if it
is communicating with a Windows 2003 Server. 

 

*          Using the Microsoft communication protocol technical
documentation as a specification, write protocol dissectors for
commercial protocol analysis tools suites to enable them to work with
the proprietary Microsoft protocols. 

 

*         Write the test programs needed to exercise the protocol on the
client and the server.

 

*          Verify that the prototype protocol as implemented conforms to
the specification through the use of protocol analysis and network
monitoring tools.

 

*           Keep a detailed record of problems encountered in using the
specification and work closely with the Members of TheTC to document
these. 

 

 

Required Experience:

*        Individual must be thoroughly familiar with client-server
communication protocols and RPC.

 

*        Individual must have 10 or more years experience writing system
level software programs for Linux, Unix, and/or Windows.

 

*        Individual must have had 5 or more years experience designing,
coding, and building interoperable protocol software implementations,
communications protocol test suites, protocol analyzers, or the like.

 

*        Knowledge of specific Microsoft Windows client-server
interactions and familiarity with the internals of Windows client and
server operating systems is a plus.



Individual will be exposed to highly confidential information.
Individual must agree to certain post employment restrictions.

The job is located in Bellevue WA and TheTC will not pay for relocation
