All encoding and delivery is run in-house on a collection of 70+ FreeBSD boxes, each with 1.3 terabytes of audio files, churning away 24-hrs a day, encoding 200 new albums a day to 17 different audio formats, then outputting them to match the specs of 55 different companies, and uploading through our T3 connection each week. All of this is run by a collection of shell scripts. (Ruby, PHP, #!/bin/sh). Though I designed the system, it's currently being run by someone who is going to switch to a different job at CD Baby, so we are now hiring I'm looking for someone to not just run it, but improve it. It pays well, great non-corporate environment (see http://cdbaby.com/people), and we have great insurance and benefits. Hours are full-time but flexible (6am-2pm? 12pm-8pm? This project was started months ago, but my consultant is no longer available. It would need to be a weekend job, sometime in the next couple of months. Currently a Netware server handles the MTA, GWIA and Webaccess agents. A Suse 9.1 server handles the POA and holds the actual PO file system. An outdated Webaccess webserver resides on an old Red Hat server. I would like all the services moved to the Suse server, and the current version of Webaccess set up on a new Linux install. A couple weeks later, after everything has been proven stable, I want the Netware server wiped and set up as an identical Suse server.
