Responsibilities: This full time position is part of the Web Services
team. The individual is responsible for administration of the
Microsoft SQLServer and MySQL databases and network web servers. The
primary role of this individual will be to efficiently integrate SQL
data and web/software applications and to manage and optimize the web
servers to support Web Services objectives and their customers.
Primary responsibilities of the position include: Acting as Primary
SQL DBA support for establishing, upgrading and maintaining web
application and/or other software environments that support the
University Technical Strategic Plan; Database security including
establishing and managing user access and environments; Implementing
and developing backup and restoral procedures and schedules;
Implementing emerging web server technology to advance University use
of the web; Monitoring database and web server system resources to
assist with application planning and performance. Other duties as may
assigned.
Requirements: The position incorporates a mix of SQL database and web
server administration expertise with familiarity with web application
functionality and procedure needs. Experience with Active Directory
and Oracle is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communications
skills are required. Undergraduate degree in CS or MIS or professional
equivalent is a prerequisite. Qualified applicants should send a
