Job Description: 2406
The successful candidate will be a key member of a rapid development
software team enabling the open source Linux community to take full
advantage of the company's key technology. Duties will include: 

Driving software innovations that exploit the company's technology 
Developing, releasing, and supporting modifications to the Linux Kernel
and related open source software stacks 
Working community projects to ensure that patches and fixes that enable
the company's technology are accepted into the base open source software
trees 
Energizing the open source community to build on the company's posted
code to further exploit it's technology 
Working in a cross functional setting to define the company's future
products 
Minimum Qualifications
Motivated, self starter 
BS or equivalent experience 
5 years systems software development experience 
Have participated in multiple software product development cycles 
Have a track record of posted Linux open source software 
Have a strong understanding of software development methodologies degree

Desired Qualifications
Advanced Degree 
More than 10 years of directly relevant professional experience 
Start up experience 
Linux device driver experience 
Understanding of network architecture 
Experience with PXE boot mechanisms 
Have worked with one or more of the major Linux distributions to get
patches into their trees as well as the base projects 
Knowledge of MPI and distributed data models 
Have solved significant parallel computing problems

We are actively searching to fill a Senior Manager/Director of Software
Design position. Although this position is for a Senior Manager, the
right candidate can quickly advance to the Director level based on
company success and personal achievement. 
The successful candidate will quickly form a high quality, rapid
development software development capability within the company. This
will include:


Leading our software team 
Establishing and implementing our software development standards and
practices 
Driving software innovations that exploit the company's technology.
Where appropriate, release and supporting modifications to the Linux
Kernel and related open source software stack 
Working with various community projects to ensure that patches and fixes
that enable the company's technology are accepted into the base open
source software trees 
Ensuring the availability of a well written set of open source Linux
drivers to allow customer software builds to access the company's
communication resources 
Working with our marketing team to energize the open source community to
build on our posted code to further exploit the company's technology 
Working in a cross functional setting to define our future products 
Minimum Qualifications
BS or equivalent experience 
7 years commercial experience including 3 years management experience 
Motivated, self starter 
Have an established track record of posted Linux open source software
and working with one or more of the major distributions in order to get
patches into their trees as well as the base projects 
Have solved significant parallel computing problems 
Have managed multiple significant systems software product development
projects through release and support 
Can demonstrate a strong understanding of software development
methodologies 
Has a strong understanding of Applications, Systems and Middleware
software 
Desired Qualifications
