board, to system level, and beyond. Particular attention must be paid

 We're looking for a Mechanical Designer to independently design
equipment and optical systems used in various products and related
research projects at Google. A Mechanical Engineering degree is not
required but is desired, though the emphasis is on strong design
skills. Experience designing and building small-run in-house
prototypes prior to production is desired. Prior experience in working
with and managing small teams is a bonus.

 There will be a strong emphasis on both design and analysis skills.
Sheet metal expertise is a must, as is experience designing
mechanisms. The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge of optical
systems and optical hardware. Some AC power wiring and harness design
skills are required. The work will include selecting commercial parts,

down to component level. This position requires strong knowledge for
