Cisco Systems Inc is hiring Linux developers in Oregon. We're building
a
team which will be working closely with Cisco product groups throughout
the
company on a common embedded Linux development environment.
In short, we're doing an internal Linux distribution. Our customers are
internal teams building products on embedded platforms running x86,
MIPS,
PPC and ARM processors. We will develop, test, release and support code
in the kernel, in other open source packages, and in Cisco proprietary
applications.
While there is a small Cisco office in town, we're primarily looking for
telecommuters. Trips to San Jose and other Cisco sites may be required
but
not too often.
If you're interested, please email me your resume.
Strong C and Linux/UNIX development experience is required. A BS/CS or
equivalent
is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are
required.
Industry experience is a plus. Linux/UNIX internals experience is a
plus.
Networking experience is a plus. Experience contributing to the Linux
kernel
or other open source projects is a huge plus. Experience with embedded
systems
or with MIPS or PPC low level kernel code is also a huge plus.
