Sr. AIX Administrator with 6+ years experience administering mission-critical UNIX systems in a production environment. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of contemporary, in-depth experience with AIX specifically. Expertise in Veritas NetBackUp, complex RAID arrays, and build management is also required.


 


The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of strong analysis, project management, communication, change management, and documentation skills. Experience in a formal and/or regulated environment (i.e., Sarbanes-Oxley or HIPAA), is strongly desired. Will work closely with project management, business analysis, system administration, software development, quality assurance, and release management. 



Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills are required, as is experience working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse team.



 


Specific Duties: 


 



Configure/setup Brocade Switches. 

Resolve customer oriented problems. 

Configure and manage Veritas and AIX SAN Disks on hosts according to customer specifications.
 
Diagnose and resolve OS related problems. 

Manage tape backups, user accounts, and print queues. 

Respond readily to host related incidents.


 


Required Skills & Experience:


 



6+ years general Unix administration including shell scripting, account management, volume management, general system administration duties
 
3+ years AIX administration experience, specifically AIX 5 administration including tuning, disaster recovery
 
Veritas NetBackup, SAN-based media servers, and database plug-ins
 
Administration and implementation of Brocade fiber switches
 
Administration and implementation of a production SAN environment, including SAN zoning , enterprise disk arrays, HBAs. Strongly desire Hitachi SHARK experience.
 
Strongly desire experience in configuring, making and installing open source software, including troubleshooting of builds.
 
Strongly desire Linux server administration experience, specifically Redhat Linux administration, tuning, and disaster recovery
