neutralSpace, Inc is a quick moving startup that is looking for a few
great Java developers.  We are working with an Open Source Java project
to extend it for our 1.0 release of our dotCal social network site.
This project will grow through many iterations to be a widely used
social calendar and sharing hub.  Our company is looking to add Java
engineers that have great user interface and core Java experience.  If
you have a passion for making the web more usable and exciting, and like

constraints of a single device, operating system or corporate network.
We help people, social groups, and organizations come together in new
and interesting ways by making it easier to share activities and
coordinate time across diverse platforms.

Ideally we want to hire for two Java positions:

1.Web User Interface Java Developer
2.Strong Core Java Developer

Java Skills
-JSP, Hibernate, Spring
-Maven, Tomcat
-Javascript UI Frameworks

Software Development Skills
-Version control (svn, git, cvs)
-Shell Scripting (Ruby, Python, shell, PERL)
-MacOS X or Linux development experience

UI
-Standards Compliant HTML/CSS
-Javascript & frameworks (Dojo, jquery, prototype)
-Understanding of Information Architecture
-Great UI design principles & style
-Ability to do paper prototyping and wireframes

Work Requirements
-Iterative feature driven development
-Strong understanding of build processes
-Unix knowledge (Linux, Solaris, BSD)
-History of completing projects on time

People Requirements
-Great references from co-workers and managers

is in Java and other components may be in other languages and
frameworks.  --Openness to other non Java technologies is critical.

ability to be realistic about the complexity of project scope to be a
strong value.
-If you are applying for the user interface position, understand you
will be required to provide user interface examples.  (screenshots,
laptop demos, printouts, etc)
-The ability to outline how you align with this description of
requirements and duties in the form of a resume, cover letter or some
equivalent.
