Network Administrator III (6 month contract to cover leave of absence)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 



Technology/architecture leader enabled to help the organization to reach
operational excellence. This is a senior level system administration
position in a global heterogeneous environment. Day to day operational
responsibilities include NetApp

Filer and Sun HW support,  Solaris administration,  Networker backups
and AIT3 tape library support /maintenance,  FTP server, Tarantella/SGD
support/administration, Manage Internal Root DNS servers (BIND),
External Authoritative DNS(BIND), Fiber-Channel SAN - Brocade switches,
LSI disk arrays, RSA Secure ID, NIS (LDAP integration), Visitor Wireless
LAN (captive portal), RFGUN wireless LAN, LDAP, External Mail Gateways
(EXIM), Mail hub / relays (EXIM), Legacy Sun/Netscape Mail servers,
Reverse proxy for SAP portal,  Intranet web server, Calendar Development
environment, and final tier support to other members of the team.
Strategic responsibilities include process automation, technology
roadmaps, system management tools development, and overall architecture
development.



 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education: Computer Science Degree or Equivalent Technical Training

Required Skills:
 - Candidate must possess an advanced knowledge of system management and
system management tools in a heterogeneous network environment.
Preferably using Altiris
- Min 10 yrs network support, including switches, UNIX servers,
Microsoft Windows servers, routers, samba, NIS, DNS, LDAP

 - Strong network engineering and network security expertise.
 - Strong programming or scripting in JAVA, PERL, WSH, VBScript or WMI.

 - Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem
solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and
communications skills
 - Proven ability to work on projects and support clients either
individually or on a team
 - Solid project management skills
