Duration: 3 to 6 months 

Location: Seattle, WA 

NOTE: This opportunity could provide you with an option to travel on a
Seagoing Ship/Boat and conducting onboard testing and gathering data of
the system. 

Description: 

======== 

Test, document and support real-time control, applications and systems
on Autonomous Underwater Vehicle for deep ocean mapping system related
activities. 

Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures relating to structured
software engineering methodologies. Champion the documentation for
software systems. 

Develop software test harnesses, black box functional tests, diagnostic
tools and sensor calibration utilities. 

Analyze performance of hardware and software interfaces with external
sensors such as GPS / INS, network appliances, acoustic imaging systems,
and operator interfaces. 

Test and Diagnostic Automation - design, code, test, debug, configure
and document software used in Autonomous Underwater Vehicle operational
business lines. 

Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure
efficient program logic and data manipulation. 

Coordinate with field personnel to troubleshoot problems and ensure
software performs as required. 

Diagnose and resolve software and hardware problems. 

Plan and execute software version upgrade releases for Autonomous
Underwater Vehicle and top-side systems. 

Manage a small peer-to-peer TCP/IP network independent of the business
line corpnet. 

 

Position requirements: 

============== 

BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other engineering
discipline or equivalent experience. 

Experience in configuration management and software quality tools. 

Test experience in a structured software development environment. 

Thorough understanding of Linux operating systems and real-time
environments at the device and kernel level. 

Programming experience in C, C++ and Python on a Linux platform is a
must. Microsoft development environment and .NET is desirable. 

Proficient with TCP/IP and RS232 Serial communication protocols. 

Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; and a
current passport and US work authorization. 

Ability to read and interpret documents; ability to write routine
reports and correspondence; ability to effectively communicate within
the organization. 

Requires some off site work and the ability to code and troubleshoot
while under pressure and on a remote job site. 

Some domestic and international travel may be required.
