The company I work for (LS NETWORKS) is looking to hire a FTE Systems
Administrator. Great small company (20 people), great enviro/culture, flex
work sched, good benies, and located near lots of good eats.

We rely heavily on our back-office systems, our business is growing, and our
back-office needs to scale. You would enjoy a high level of autonomy and

*I.Overall Job Purpose*
•Design, implement & maintain all back office support systems for both the
LSN office (IT) network and the service provider network.

*II.Duties and Responsibilities *
•In conjunction with management develop overall back office strategy
complete with design, budget and implementation plans.
•Administer, maintain and replace if / when needed, existing back office
hardware to include:

   - Servers
   - Firewalls / VPN Concentrators
   - Cabling
   - Desktops
   - Printers
   - Security System
   - Switches

•Develop and implement backup and disaster preparedness plans to include
off-site
•Provide network integration support for alarm management, messaging, and
element management systems
•Provide scheduled maintenance and updates to keep high the general health
of server and desktop operating systems and application software.
•Review current use of application software and suggest alternatives or new
use of existing software to maximize productivity
•Perform detailed audit of existing and proposed back office design for
security concerns and vulnerabilities and resolve as necessary
•Provide desktop user support for office and field staff
•Provide database administration, form customization and report generation
for order management system.
•Provide administration and feature development for creation of user web
portals
•Stay apprised of current IT trends and develop vendor relationships to aid
in product decisions
•Design, procure, deploy and manage new office IP PBX and converge with
existing IP call router
•Develop and maintain standards for desktop and application configurations,
archiving and routine restoration checks
•Inventory, assign and track software licenses, new hardware, cell phones
and desk phones to office users and back office functions

*III.Qualifications*
•Technical Skills – Knowledge and technical proficiency at the
administrative level addressing all aspects of the planning, installation,
operation, maintenance, and reporting of the following technologies (and
related products):

   - Unix / Solaris / Linux / Windows Server Operating Systems
   - Windows & MAC desktop operating systems
   - BIND
   - Microsoft exchange
   - Relational database administration
   - Filemaker, MS SQL and Oracle database management systems
   - HP Openview Network Node Manager
   - Telalert
   - Cacti
   - Asterisk IP PBX
   - Ethernet / IP / QOS as used within the LAN environment
   - Microsoft Office

*IV.Education and/or Experience*
•Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or 2 year technical diploma plus equivalent
additional experience
•5+ years working as Systems Administrator or LAN Administrator with
described or related technologies above.
•2+ years experience working as a UNIX administrator
•2+ years experience in a desktop support environment
•Experience within telecommunications industry optional but preferred
