Information Systems Engineer - Portland, OR

We are seeking a highly motivated, development and test environment manager proficient in hardware, networking and databases.  This person will report to and work closely with the Sr lab manager, IT and many other employees throughout the organization to ensure all Dev and QA test environments are setup and maintained in a timely manner while also performing regular software updates and data recovery/backup duties.

Responsibilities:

 *   Databases: Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server
 *   Networking: LAN, firewalls, load balancing
 *   UNIX shell scripting: bash, ksh, csh
 *   Linux: RedHat, CentOS, SuSE, Fedora, ubuntu/debian
 *   J2EE containers: tomcat, clustering
 *   x86 server hardware/storage: SAS, iSCSI, RAID, NetApp
 *   Virtualization: VMware, Xen
 *   Provide and meet time estimates for assigned deliverables
 *   Utilize technical skills to help troubleshoot and solve technical issues

Requirements:

 *   3 yrs (min) database administration
 *   4 yrs (min) networking experience
 *   5 yrs (min) UNIX shell scripting
 *   5 yrs (min) Linux experience
 *   3 yrs (min) working with J2EE containers
 *   4 yrs (min) experience working in a production environment (with SLAs, planned recovery strategies, offsite backups, etc.)
 *   Solid working knowledge of x86 server hardware/storage
 *   Security and auditing exposure
 *   Hands-on experience administering and adhering to internal procedures, standards, policies
 *   Familiarity working with large enterprise environments and configuration, including virtualization
 *   In-depth knowledge of standard web technologies, including app servers, web servers, databases, browsers, etc.
