Linux Build Engineer


Years of Experience & Expertise Level:Two to three years experience with
Linux System Administration
       
Project Description:

Candidate will be responsible for working with MeeGo environment build and
release tools and smoke-testing product images, all while following a
continuous, fast-paced release cadence.

       
Daily Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Developing, extending and maintaining automated build services and tools
(Python, BASH)

- Smoke-testing product images before QA receives them
- Analysis of QA reports for code acceptance into the releases
- Interfacing with QA and other groups to deliver builds, schedule, and
support a continuous and fast-paced release process
- Contributing to Release documentation (release notes, process
documentation, etc.)
       
Necessary Skills (Must Have):

- Python
- Bash shell scripting
- Familiarity with continuous build processes
- Knowledge of RPM packaging

- Knowledge of various source control tools: Subversion, Git, gitorious

- Linux debug and trouble-shooting skills
       
Additional Skills Desired (Nice to Have):

 -Familiarity with the software build system OBS (Open suse Build Service)

-Open source development and contribution experience
