Linux System Administrator

Administration

Project Description:

Candidate will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of
multiple internet and internal facing websites & servers performing backups,


software builds, and security updates.

Daily Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


- Account administration & technical support of linux users

- Troubleshooting issues found with the servers and working with development
engineers to resolve

- Hardware configuration

- Linux servers software and administration

- Familiarity with management and monitoring software

- Network configuration

- Executing regular backups and performing restores if required

-Troubleshoot Mailing Lists, Wikis, 

- Assisting web developers in migrating domains, websites, bugzillas,
mailing lists as needed

- Troubleshooting web issues and working with others on the team to resolve
them 

- Documenting processes and procedures

Necessary Skills (Must Have):

- Linux System Administration experience in a networked environment 

- Working knowledge with change control tools subversion, git, gitosis, cvs

- Networking, iptables firewalls, routing, and os-level security

- Experience with at least two Linux distributions

- Knowledge of postfix; dovecot/imap; rsync; mailman administration

　

Additional Skills Desired (Nice to Have):

- Knowledge of OpenSuse, Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, MeeGo*

- Bacula, Bugzilla, MediaWiki, Nginx, fastcgi, Apache, Bugzilla, Drupal

- Ability to troubleshoot/create Python* build scripts

-At least some experience with Perl, Ruby, Python, Bash, PHP

- Experience with an open source project
