Position Overview
The Information Technology department strategically supports our engineers and corporate staff in more than 75 offices and R&D centers around the globe. Reporting to the IT Manager the Senior Storage Administrator will be responsible for our world-class storage environment which supports our engineers worldwide.

Responsibilities Include:
*General storage administration, performance management, backup and tape rotation, data center monitoring and systems management hardware support and troubleshooting,
*Working with vendors for support issues.
*Performance tuning, processes automation and improvement in a large enterprise-wide environment.
*OS installations including physical and virtual machines.
*Resolving customer issues via help desk tickets and supporting other IT staff as needed.
*Providing critical server support and participating in an on-call rotation.
*Problem resolution in an effective and timely manner in accordance with SLA's and customer expectations.
*Demonstrating time management and prioritization skills to accommodate business requirements and managing scheduled activities.
*Working in a team environment and communicating with all levels of customers world-wide.
*Other general administration duties as assigned.

The Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
*BS degree in Information Technology (or related degree) or equivalent additional experience.  An advanced degree is preferred.
*5+ years of general Unix Systems Administration experience in a Linux (RedHat preferred) or Solaris (Both x86 and Sparc) environment including Shell/Perl scripting and process automation.
*Must have prior experience as the primary storage administrator supporting an enterprise-wide NAS or SAN environment.  This includes a preference for Network Appliance and HDS/BlueArc experience
*Virtualization experience with VMware products is required. VDI and Lab Manager is preferred.
*In depth knowledge of Symantec NetBackup products and tape rotations. Must understand networking protocols and be able to diagnose network related problems at the client level. Experience supporting software development engineers.
*Must possess data center management skills including monitoring, change control, and documentation in a large enterprise environment, as well as in depth knowledge on various manufacturers' server and tape hardware (Dell, HP, Oracle, Quantum, IBM, etc).
*Problem management, incident management, and change control processes.
*Management tools (Ops Manager, IT Operations Analyzer, HP Operations Orchestration).
