Description

Job Description:

This position is in the Intel SSG SSD Open Source Technology Center
Infrastructure team. Candidate will support distributed infrastructure for
some of Intel's major open source software products.  The successful
applicant will be part of a team responsible for (but not limited to)
monitoring, maintaining, upgrading, testing, troubleshooting software in a
distributed computing environment. Monitors usage, load and performance of
remote or locally sited servers. Installs and tests operating systems,
databases and/or supported applications. Troubleshoots for errors, performs
recovery steps remotely or on site. Researches, recommends and/or
implements system enhancements that will improve server/OS/application
deployment, reliability, security and performance. Provides first level
support for internal customers and partners. Trains personnel on system
usage. Administering user access.


Qualifications

Good general knowledge of Linux System Administration required.
Demonstrated ability to automate Sys admin tasks in scripting languages
required.
Strong troubleshooting and performance analysis experience required.
Ability to successfully interface with internal users, external vendors,
and external business partners, clarify/implement security and technical
requirements, plans etc desired.

 Helpful Experience with several of these technologies:

 - OS: openSUSE, Fedora, Ubuntu
 - Package management: RPM / DEB
 - Scripting languages: shell, perl, python, ruby
 - Network and Virtualization: XEN, KVM/QEMU, OpenStack, network
virtualization, good knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6
 - Configuration management: Ganeti, Puppet, CFengine
 - Services: Apache, Nginx, OpenLDAP, Mailman, SSH, rsync, Nagios, Postfix,
iptables
 - Development tools: Gerrit, Git, Jenkins, Drupal, Open Build Service
 - Advanced understanding of SSL Certificates, and enterprise hardware.
